Lille OSC – Season 2022/23 Statistics Overview
With the FM Tool application at my disposal, I can analyse the players of my team, French league or other competitions at any time. Below I will check what season 2022/23 the Lille OSC players had, including those on loan and who was the best in Ligue 1. Last year’s analysis showed a great game of Badiashile on the charts, which made him a defensive leader in Lille. Let’s hope to find such a player again.
Lille OSC
The number of players at Lille OSC is again 62, including all squads and loans. The screenshots below, taken from FM Tool, provide detailed information about all of them. I highlighted loaned players and French-born players.
We will start the season analysis by using all players from the club. For players who only played in Lille 2 team, their stats from this team will be used.
Goalkeepers
Again, Maignan fares best compared to other Lille goalkeepers. You have to take into account the fact that Chevalier is playing in the weaker Belgian league, while Villar in Lille’s Reserve team, so they should look much better.
Tackles and Interceptions
Again, at the top of the charts are the two pillars of Lille’s defense, Amian and Bradaric, who are still on a certain level. It should be noted that in the forefront of all the charts is young Elias Machuca, whose good performance can be seen especially in the tackles/90 vs interceptions/90 chart, where he is almost in the upper right corner, i.e. in the best place. Could he follow a similar route to Badiashile?
Headers
Badiashile is one of the best when it comes to headline statistics, just like last season. It was for these charts that he took Maresic’s place in Lille. We see Elias Machuca in the lead again.
Passes
Both Villar and Gomez improved their stats compared to last season. Villar increased the number of key passes/90 from 3.5 to over 4, while Gomez increased the number of chances created/90 from about 0.70 to almost 0.8. The impression is made by over 1.1 chances created/90 by Amine Benzerga. He appears at the top of most of these charts, so expect him to appear in the first squad next season.
Assists
You can see from the charts how much Jonathan Ikone dribbles his game. Seeing his stats you can see that he is doing very well. However, when it comes to the ratio of key passes to assists, Villar is the best.
Goals
In the case of charts with goals, most often at the top are all three that Sullivan demands the most. Gouiri, Osimhen and Boula.
Ligue 1
The analysis of players from the entire Ligue 1 take into account the full squad of each team, excluding Lille.
Goalkeepers
Again, two top goalkeepers ended up here due to their teams’ poor defense. Both of these teams were relegated to a lower league. Braat (FC Lorient) and Lesieur (Nantes).
Tackles and Interceptions
Casimir Ninga (Angers) and his 18 tackles/90 deserve a mention. This is due to only 1 game played, but still the value is impressive. Alessandro Schopf (Nice) is in the lead on the two charts, and Sullivan may reflect on him.
Headers
Pietro Pellegri (Monaco) is the best in headshots, but due to the fact that Lille does not play almost any top crosses, it makes no sense to bring the Italian in, as his potential will not be fully used.
Passes
The passing charts show why PSG played such a good ball and scoring serial points. It is possible to have a slightly better line of midfielders than Lille has. All three of PSG: Marco Verratti, Ander Herrera and Axel Witsel appear in the forefront of each chart. The average age of the them is 33, so perhaps it was the last season of such PSG domination.
Assists
Again in these charts we see Marco Verratti (PSG), perhaps the best center midfielder in Ligue 1 right now. In addition to PSG players, Maxime Lopez (Marseille) appears in the passing and now assists charts. Only 25-year-old French midfielder, with an average of 7.32 in 32 games, can attract attention.
Goals
And once again the tops of the charts were taken by PSG players. The total number of goals scored by the three of them: Icardi, Neymar, Mbappe is 77. It definitely makes an impression. In addition to the obvious names, 17-year-old Chinese Cui Linguo (Rennes) gets attention.
